At Optimal Nutraceuticals, our mission has always been clear: to create the highest quality supplements without compromise. Years ago, we noticed a recurring issue: individuals with complex or sensitive health conditions were struggling to tolerate even the most reputable professional-grade supplements. One of our founders, Erin Flynn, was among them. After being diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, she found herself reacting to nearly everything she put into her body—including supplements that were supposed to help. At the same time, Dr. TJ Williams was beginning his work in functional medicine and was frustrated by the inconsistency in how patients responded to the supplements he recommended, despite them being from trusted professional brands.
Taking Quality Into Our Own Hands
This repeated pattern revealed a deeper problem within the supplement industry: there were few safeguards in place to guarantee ingredient purity, potency, or consistent sourcing—even at the professional level. That discovery sparked the formation of Optimal Nutraceuticals in 2013. Rather than rely on assumptions about quality, we built our own standard—one that involved taking control of the manufacturing process, carefully evaluating ingredient sources, and refusing to produce anything we wouldn’t personally use in our most sensitive patients. Each of our supplements is formulated with the intention that it can stand alone as a top-tier product in its category.
